Music Ministry
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!
— Psalm 98:4-6
Music is an important part of the way we praise and worship God, and FMC Tallassee has a very strong musical tradition. We offer many opportunities to become involved in our Music Ministry, and are very welcoming and encouraging of newcomers. Come and make music with us!
Chancel Choir
Sundays at 5:00 pm, Choir Room (2nd floor)
With a diverse repertoire of traditional and modern hymns, the music sung by our Chancel Choir serves to lead us in traditional worship on Sunday mornings, quieting our minds and focusing our hearts on God. Practices take place Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm, under the direction of Music Director Jerry Cunningham, and provide a wonderful time of fellowship and praise. The Chancel Choir is truly like a family, and is always looking for more folks to join them!
Handbell Choirs
Youth & Adult Bells – Sundays at 4 pm
Bell Room (2nd floor)
It takes a special person to be a ringer! Our handbell choirs provide youth and adults alike an opportunity to play a special role in worship on Sunday mornings. Participants learn to play bells and chimes, and work on various techniques in a wide range of musical styles under the direction of Kelley Hill.
Special Music
We encourage members of our congregation to use their musical talents to the glory of God by providing occasional special music during worship times. Our worship services have featured special instrumentalists playing trumpet, trombone, flute, dulcimer, guitar, French horn, and others, as well as vocalists who have performed solos or in ensembles.
