Free To Be Holy – “Perfect Love”
By: Clint McBroom
Series: Free To Be Holy
1 John 2:1a, 4:7-12
Before God made anything, God lived in perfect love. The Father loved the Son and the Spirit; the Son loved the Father and the Spirit; the Spirit loved the Father and the Son. God is love because God is the Trinity—one God in three persons, three persons who exist in eternal relationships of perfect love. God’s purpose for you and me is to make us participants in that perfect love. That love is not about striving to obey a list of rules for the sake of the rules, but about experiencing the love of God so fully that it fills us and overflows into the people around us.

Nov 10, 2024Free To Be Holy – “What Does God Want?”By: Clint McBroomSeries: Free To Be HolyLeviticus 19At its heart, holiness is about our relationship with God-a relationship in which we come to share God’s character. We can say we love Jesus all we want, but if our behavior doesn’t embody that love in our relationships with others, then we’ve not understood God’s best for us. Holiness isn’t an internal disposition with no bearings on our eternal life. If we’re to share God’s character, that character must show up in our visible and exterior bodily life.

When we see our lives as managing what belongs to God alone, it frees us from the false idea that life is about consumption and gathering possessions.

Sep 8, 2024Wisdom For Living – “Life As A Path”By: Clint McBroomSeries: Wisdom For LivingProverbs 3:1-6, 4:11, 26One of the consistent themes of Proverbs is that life is filled with paths, and when you choose a path, it always leads to the same destination, regardless of how smart you are or how wealthy your family is. This also tells us that getting to where God wants us to be (and where we really want to be) is a product of daily, mundane steps over months and years.
