How to Really Change: “The Heart of the Problem”
Scripture:  Romans 7:15-19

We have all experienced the frustration of trying to change ourselves, and not being able to do it. But when it comes to the most serious things about our lives that are causing chaos, what if the problem is not simply that change is hard, but that we are enslaved to sin? In this series, we will look at the freedom that Jesus has bought for us, and how we can live into that freedom for our lives.

    Guest Preacher:  Dr. Mike Pearson

Advent begins by looking, not at Jesus' first arrival, but at his final arrival.  The purpose of this is not to create anxiety in us, but to fill us with hope and to spur us toward following Jesus in all things.  Something happens in our hearts when we live watchfully, with Jesus' final arrival in mind:  our hearts are pulled toward Jesus and away from the things that compete with Jesus for our hearts.
